Visual Paragraph for the novel Wuthering heights
Hindley
Envy
“He has been blaming our father (how dared he?) for treating H. too liberally; and swears he will reduce him to his right place.' “
Written in catherine's diary
Pg 27
This quote really shows what hindley thinks and foreshadows how he will act throughout the novel. It also shows an important bit of info stating that Mr.Earnshaw favored Heathcliff over Hindley. With the line “swears he will reduce him to his right place” you can see the forshadowing because throughout the novel Hindley degrades and beats Heathcliff .An example would be when Mr.Earnshaw dies and Hindley inherits everything,he immediately makes him a laborer and forbids him from seeing the tutor,so Heathcliff will be uneducated.A quote that compliments mine is "usurper of his father's affections..."(page 42).Both of these quotes really show Hindley’s envy.
The image i chose to draw really captivates the relationship of Heathcliff and Hindley by having Heathcliff in the spotlight .This shows the favoritism and attention Mr.Earnshaw gave Heathcliff, which can be assumed that all the attention went to Hindley previously.I also chose to draw Hindley feeling anger because Hindley gets mad at Heathcliff a lot through the novel.
